Hey look! It worked! We didn’t post this on Sunday, though we tried to. For some reason, it was just today–Tuesday–that YouTube decided to let the video show up.

We’re continuing in the Good Song Sunday tradition this year, and you can look forward to a new video every first Sunday of the month. So even though we’re technically two days late this month, we’re excited to roll out February’s Good Song Sunday!

LOVE DON’T LEAVE ME ALONE

Clap your hands, raise up your voices
Beat your drums, get out your guitars
We love the Lord, He loved us first
So stomp on the floor and rattle the earth

Love don’t leave me alone (love don’t leave me alone)

He opened his mouth, out came the heavens
And the moon and the stars that go on forever
He opened his hand, out came the earth
Rain for the rivers and food from the dirt

Love don’t leave me alone (love don’t leave me alone)

Our road has been long, our minds full of worry
Our road has been long, our minds full of worry
Our road has been long, our minds full of worry
But he won’t forget no one who hopes in his mercy

Love don’t leave me alone (love don’t leave me alone)
from Reckless
Tim F Thornton (Bricklayer Music Publishing, ASCAP) and Aaron Strumpel (Thirsty Dirt Records, ASCAP)

Hey, everyone, we need to let you know we will close registration for Worship@8500, the 3 day worship festival in Divide, CO, on Friday night June 18th at midnight. This will allow us to finalize our camper’s locations, buy the food, and prep the area for all our guests!  We are so excited to see you soon.

Here is some great camping info:  do you need to rent sleeping bags, or tents?  REI in the Springs rents all kinds of camping gear: Tents, pads, stoves, etc. They just don’t rent out sleeping bags. For a 3 man tent it’s around $20 for members of REI from Friday to Sunday and $25 for non members. Their phone number is (719) 260-1455.

Here’s how to preorder Reckless and get thanked with an exclusive rough mix–a peek into the production process–and possibly some other nifty things. Your pre-order helps us get ‘er done sooner, so we have some bonuses just for you peeps who are letting their enthusiasm time-travel and ordering it early.

3-b. Fun notes on this version of “Mud Song”: In the Reckless session, the recording of “Mud Song” takes on a bit of Andean influence since the Simple Series release. This is a result of Tim’s recent trips to Peru where he was given a charango. The song features Steve Holley on upright bass, Karla AdolpheAaron Strumpel (also producer of Reckless), and Ben and Robin Pasley from Enter the Worship Circle: Fourth Circle on group party vocals! Tim and Aaron do the lo-fi percussion.

4. Realize you are a part of something very special. Many things, actually. Be thankful you are on the earth. It needs you.

Hey yo! We are working hard at getting our new album, “Reckless,” done. Still on track to release it in June at Worship@8500 (go reserve your camp spots now at worshipat8500.com). I’m (Laurie) SO excited for it! Last night we put some crazy gang vocals with the whole 4th Circle crew–Karla, Ben and Robin, and Aaron–on a few songs, including Mud Song and the title track, “Reckless.” Seriously, it was so fun that I wish I were doing it again tonight. I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time!

Anyway, here’s a new video for your viewing enjoyment. I’m off to record some lead vocals at Aaron’s house.

Making this video made me want to play this song more often. It’s an old one, but I love it. Enjoy!
