Ladies!

We are honored to get to lead worship for a weekend women’s retreat with Stasi Eldredge, author of Captivating, at Glen Eyrie here in Colorado Springs.

I probably don’t have to tell you much about the Eldredge’s ministry, but I will say that they share our heart to see people set free in Christ and moving in the authority they have as sons and daughters of the King. Here is a bit from the retreat description: “You will not only encounter the love of God while here, but you will discover the heart of who he is. You will leave knowing not only how you view God, but how he views you as a woman.”

Sounds great, doesn’t it? Not only will you have a wonderful opportunity to bask in the love of the Father, but you’ll also get to stay at and enjoy the beautiful Glen Eyrie castle.

Date: November 18-20

Men, I know it’s late notice. Because it took me a while to get things together, I nearly cancelled the event this year thinking, ‘I’ll just go fishing with some friends and read the bible that weekend instead. Oh, wait, that is the retreat.’

Please read this invitation and respond if you’d like to join us. ~ Tim

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. Matthew 11:28 (The Message)

You’re invited to a time of fly-fishing, great food, and seeking the kingdom of God.

This is a fundraising event for Tim and Laurie Thornton’s ministry. It is open-invite for men and their sons and will be in Eleven Mile Canyon near Lake George, CO. It’s limited to the first 20 to register.

Tim will be leading a conversational devotion each day based on his book-in-progress of reflections on kingdom parables. The weekend is 75% self-guided and allows ample time for fishing world-class trout water, soaking in sunshine, and connecting personally with the Creator and with other men. On Saturday night he will clearly explain he and Laurie’s mission and will briefly explain opportunities to partner in the work.

To register for the weekend a donation of the following amount is requested:

$225 – Weekend (evening Fri, Aug 26 to afternoon Sun, Aug 28)
$125 – Saturday only (Aug 27 dawn to dark)

The weekend includes the most excellent camp food you’ve ever had (nearly everything wrapped in bacon), camping fees, fishing guidance, and your use of a full fly-fishing setup if you don’t have your own gear–including waders and boots, vest, net, rod, reel, line, leader, tippet, and flies.

If you’re interested in participating, please email tim@theblackthornproject.com
right now and further details and instructions for registration will be sent to you.

Now, please enjoy some Hipstamatic photos from last year.
